African Wild Dog Basic Facts

The African Wild Dog is a mammal that lives in most places in Africa. Their scientific name is Lycaon Pictus. They're sometimes called the African Hunting Dog, African Painted Dog, Cape Hunting Dog, and the Painted Wolf. The parts of Africa that the wild dog lives in is Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, and some in Northern Africa. They weigh around 20-25 kg (44-55 lb) and is about 60-75 cm (24-30 in) long. They're fur colour is a mix of brown, black, and white. The African Wild Dog is normally found in savannas or arid zones. This animal eats other animals. It mostly eats gazelle's but sometimes eats impala's, reedbuck's, kob's, lechwe's, and springbok's.
