Anhinga Recap

An Anhinga is a bird that lives in south North America and north South America. Their scientific name is Anhinga Anhinga. Some of their nicknames are Snakebird, Darter, American Darter, and Water Turkey. In the Brazilian Tupi language, Anhinga means 'devil bird'. They weigh 1.04- 1.35 kg (2.3- 3.0 lb) and are about 75- 95 cm (30- 37 in) long. Their feather colours are grey and brown and they eat shrimp and frog eggs. The average lifespan of an Anhinga is 11 years.
