Addax Basic Facts

The addax is a species of the antelope. It's scientific name is Addax Nasomaculatus. It is known as the white antelope or screwhorn antelope because of it's pale white fur and long horns. This mammal lives in the Sahara Desert. The females horns are 55- 80 cm (22- 31 in) long and the males have 70- 85 cm (28- 33 in) long horns. These are the measurments for how long the female addax is: 95- 110 cm (37- 43 in). Here is the measurements for the male: 105- 115 cm (41- 45 in). Here is the body weight of the female addax: 60- 90 kg (130- 200 lb). Here is the male: 100- 125 kg (220- 276 lb). The fur colour of the addax depends on the season. In winter and fall, it is a greyish- brown. In spring and summer, it's usually white or sandy blonde. It eats grasses and leaves from any bush they can find. They live in Morocco and Tunisia.
