The acouchi is a small rodent that lives in South America. They are sometimes called tailed agoutis. There are two species of the acouchi: the red acouchi and the green acouchi. The acouchi's fur colour is a greenish- brown. They live along riverbanks in holes that they dig. They maimly eat fruit and are hunters during the day. The red acouchi is known to be bigger than the green acouchi. The red acouchi weighs 1.05- 1.45 kg (2.3- 3.11 lb) and is 38.6- 46.8 cm (1.2- 1.5 ft), while the green acouchi weighs 0.8- 1.2 kg (28.2- 42.3 oz) and is 29.8- 38.3 cm (11.7 in- 1.2 ft).
