African Buffalo Basic Facts
The African Buffalo, sometimes known as the cape buffalo, is a mammal that lives in eastern and southern Africa. It's scientific name is Syncerus Caffer. The African Buffalo kills over 200 people every year. Their shoulder height is 1.0- 1.7 m (3.3- 5.6 ft). It's body and head length is 1.7- 3.4 m (5.6- 11.2 ft) and it weighs about 500- 1,000 kg (1,100- 2,200 lb). The male's fur colour is black or dark brown and the female's is dark red. African Buffalo's eat mostly grass, but if there is no grass, they eat shrubs. Most African Buffalo's live in: swamps, floodplains, or mopane grasslands.

This rodent is sometimes called agoutis. The red acouchi's scientifc name is Myoprocta Acouchy and the green acouchi's scientific name is Myoprocta Pratti. This mammal lives in northern South America. One of it's features is it has greenish- brown fur with bright orange and red spots on it's head. They live along riverbanks, where they dig their holes for shelter. They eat fruit and are active during the day. The red acouchi is 38.6 cm- 46.8cm (1.2 ft- 1.5ft) long and weighs about 1.05 kg- 1.45 kg (2.3 lb- 3.11 lb). The green acouchi is a little bit smaller. It weighs about 0.8 kg- 1.2 kg (28.2 oz- 42.3 oz) and is about 29.8 cm- 38.3 cm (11.7in- 1.2 ft) long.
