Armadillo Basic Facts

An Armadillo is a mammal that eats beetles, grubs, and worms, which makes them Carnivores. Their scientific name is Dasypodidae. Some of their nicknames are Hoover Pig, Poor's Man Pig, and Poverty Pig. They live in Central America and Texas. Armadillo's weigh about 2.5- 33 kg (5.5- 72.7 lb) and are about 9- 100 cm (3.5- 39.3 in) in length. They are dark brown in colour with black, red, gray, and yellow areas. Their lifespan is 12- 15 years.
