Aardvark Recap

The aardvark is a pig- like mammal that lives south of the Sahara. It is nocturnal and sniffs it's surroundings to find food. This mammal eats ants, termites, and the aardvark cucumber. However, it does not eat the African pilot ant or the red ant. The aardvark lives in burrows to avoid heat. The word "aardvark" means "ground pig" or "earth pig." It is not related to the pig or the South American Anteater. It's related to gold moles, tenrecs, and elephants. It weighs 60- 80 kg (130- 180 lbs) and is about 105- 130 cm (3.44- 4.27 ft) long. It's fur colour is a yellowish- grey and when it's in soil, it's a reddish, brown. This mammal lives in savannas, grasslands, bushlands, and woodlands. That's our recap for today!
